Mark you calendars for a Healthy Habitat Species Identification Workshop.
We will learn about identifying species, what a field survey is, how to log a species, how to mark a species on a GPS, and why you would use a GPS.

Lunch will be provided and ice cream to wrap up the day! Registration is required so that we can have enough food ready for everyone.

This Workshop will be an introduction to our God's Great Earth summer camp. We will systematically explore the Five Families of Creation: Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia.

All ages are welcome to attend but children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Please register each person who will be staying on site for the event including adults and children of all ages.

We will be working in a wildlife area and there is always a chance of encountering snakes, poison ivy and other dangers. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing including close-toed shoes. A limited number of rubber boots will be available, and families are highly encouraged to bring their own if they have them. Long pants are recommended. Mosquito spray and sun screen are also recommended!

Please note that students who will be on site must have a current Medical Release Form & Family Registration Form on file with the EE office. Students who have been enrolled in a class or camp during the past 12 months will already have a form on file. You may print these forms and fill them out ahead of time by using the links on the registration page. Additional forms will be available at the registration table for new students. Forms must be signed by a parent.

All Extraordinary Education policies including Dress Code and Behavior Guidelines apply to this event. Please refer to page 3 of the Extraordinary Education Handbook. A link to the handbook is also provided on the registration page.

This event is offered through our Healthy Habitat grant provided by Encana Oil, Texas Parks & Wildlife and Service Learning Texas.
