My family and I will try to make it to this event. The Indian dancers from Anjali Dance Company should be quite good -- I watched the director and two of her teachers dance at MFAH and they were awesome. I also got to make friends with them afterward and found them to be very friendly. We had a great time conversing as there are great similarities between various Indian dances and Indonesian Balinese dance, which I was trained in. I am not sure what Indonesian dances will be performed by the dancers affiliated with the Indonesian consulate but I would love to see them as I have been meaning to make contact with that group. Maybe I'll see you at this event!

George Ranch Homeschool day May 28th

The George Ranch Historical Park presents Home [School] on the Ranch,
a day program specifically designed for homeschoolers. You'll travel
back in time through four different sites - the 1830s Jones Stock
Farm, the 1860s Ryon Prairie Home, the 1890s Davis Victorian Mansion
and the 1930s George Ranch Home - and focus on what home life was like
in each of those time periods. Since public schools weren't widespread
in the early days, the Jones and Ryon families were some of the first
homeschoolers in the area! Bring the whole family for a day of fun and
learning. And don't forget to wear your pioneer dresses and cowboy
hats!
