DFW Allen PEACH Used Book Sale

PEACH Used Book Sale

Our PEACH Used Book Sale date is set for

Saturday, July 17th, from Noon to 3pm

at
Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, Center Rooms 180 #A-F,
703 South Greenville Ave., Allen, TX 75002.

Drop off 9:00am to 11:00am and Pick up will be from 4:00-4:30pm.

New this year:

Purchase and man your own table for $2 located in the hall that all attendees will walk past to enter main sale. These tables will be limited in number available.

Lynne will be contacting PEACH member workers.

You do not have to be a PEACH member to buy or sell.

Envelopes or 3"x5" cards fastened securely to inside front page or outside accepted. Every item must be labeled with at least your name if you are selling in sets. (Hint: affix address labels or use it as a writing assignment for your children.)

If you have a graduating Homeschool senior who wishes to be part of a
Graduation and Commencement Exercises for 2010, NTHEN has very limited space
available at its Graduation and Commencement Event to be held on May 29,
1010 at 2:00PM at the Arapaho Road Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. If you

Chambersville Tree Farms, just 5 miles north of McKinney ,consists of
300 acres of wooded hills with 5 lakes. We are a working organic grower of
trees, crape myrtles, japanese maples and antique roses. Our public rose
gardens are Legacy of Legends, a modern rose garden, and Chambersville
Heritage Rose Garden, internationally recognized by rosarians and
agri-tourism visitors. Our learning grove of trees is really quite
interesting! We are staffed by Master Gardeners so all necessary security
clearances are up to date.

Our farm is offered , free of charge, to scouts and all schools for
field trips.

"Dancing with Horses" dress rehearsals

a troupe of Juilliard dancers in Aubrey, Texas as they meld the beauty of
dancing with the beauty of horses. Those interested in attending the

The Equus Projects Dancing with Horses
The Equus Projects is a NYC-based performing arts company that merges
dance and equestrian artistry. The Equus Projects' unique performance works
include large-scale, site-specific installations and intimate dance-theatre
works in arts and equestrian venues. The company hosts clinics for dancers
and equestrians around the country, and brings their performances to diverse
audiences in both communities.

Mark you calendars for a Healthy Habitat Species Identification Workshop.
We will learn about identifying species, what a field survey is, how to log a species, how to mark a species on a GPS, and why you would use a GPS.

Lunch will be provided and ice cream to wrap up the day! Registration is required so that we can have enough food ready for everyone.

This Workshop will be an introduction to our God's Great Earth summer camp. We will systematically explore the Five Families of Creation: Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia.

Workshop agenda:
8:15 - 8:30 Check-in
8:30 - 9:30 Orientation
How are living things classified?
What are the 5 Kingdoms of living things?
Divide and conquer - separating into groups
Habitat boundaries and ecological protocol.
What is a transect Survey? GPS tags.
9:30 - 11:30 Assign areas and Collect Species samples
11:30 - 12:00 Lunch
12:00 - 1:30 Species sample sort: preservation and classification.
1:30 - 2:00 Ice cream and Discussion: "What I've learned today".


All ages are welcome to attend but children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Please register each person who will be staying on site for the event including adults and children of all ages.

We will be working in a wildlife area and there is always a chance of encountering snakes, poison ivy and other dangers. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing including close-toed shoes. A limited number of rubber boots will be available, and families are highly encouraged to bring their own if they have them. Long pants are recommended. Mosquito spray and sun screen are also recommended!

Please note that students who will be on site must have a current Medical Release Form & Family Registration Form on file with the EE office. Students who have been enrolled in a class or camp during the past 12 months will already have a form on file. You may print these forms and fill them out ahead of time by using the links on the registration page. Additional forms will be available at the registration table for new students. Forms must be signed by a parent.

All Extraordinary Education policies including Dress Code and Behavior Guidelines apply to this event. Please refer to page 3 of the Extraordinary Education Handbook. A link to the handbook is also provided on the registration page.

This event is offered through our Healthy Habitat grant provided by Encana Oil, Texas Parks & Wildlife and Service Learning Texas.
